Spring break caving trip- part 2

 We got up on Friday morning, March 18th, got breakfast from an adorable place in town and headed to the caverns.  About two miles from the visitor center Elliott said his stomach felt bad.  I handed him a bag to puke into if he needed it.  About one mile from the visitor center Elliott held the bag flat in front of his face and puked and puked and puked.  The bag, flat in front of him, effectively splashed the puke up and to the sides so that everything in the backseat was covered.   

The plan was to hike into the caverns and then take the elevator out.  Given the amount of charging we needed to do to get back, we already didn't have time for that.  Now we needed to de-vomit Elliott enough to even get into the cave.

After a visit to the information desk for some supplies (they first gave me a dustpan), and a lot of scrubbing with hand sanitizer, we got into the cave. The walking tour itself was fantastic. I took a billion pictures, but I will try to trim. 

Elliott crashed out after we left the caverns.  He was exhausted from so much puking. 

We got to see what it looked like around that area because it had been night and very dark when we drove there. 

Once again we had to go out of our way to charge in Van Horn and then El Paso. 

We spent the night with my mom's cousin in Las Cruces on Friday night.  Then Saturday was a bunch of charging on the way back to Tucson.  Every time we stopped to charge Michael and I worked on cleaning out the puke remnants and puke smell.  That car was sparkling in every way when we turned it back in and said good riddance on Saturday evening. 

On Sunday morning, in our own car, we drove down to Elgin and met up with Paul and Lauren.  We went out to look at the land they recently purchased and had breakfast in their camper. 

Then we went to our final cave, Kartner Caverns.  No photography is allowed in the actual cave so we took pictures in the museum/visitor center. 

 And after that spring break was over and we finally returned home!
