The 50th week of August

We're going to fly through this post and get mostly caught up, because last week was boring to the MAX.

I made a backdrop for my virtual speech therapy sessions on Sunday the 9th.

I had "lost" one of my radiation tattoos, but then found it on Monday the 10th.  It really did move because of my reconstruction.

There is nothing to report from the 11th.

I had a busy day on Wednesday the 12th.  I went to PT that morning, then got a cold brew to power through the day, then came home and drank it and worked.

Then I drove to work, then I drove to my surgeon's office.

He took this dysplastic nevi out.

I ordered this headset for myself the morning of Thursday the 13th.

It was delivered four hours later!  Amazing!

I had my yearly DEXA scan on Friday the 14th.  I took this picture specifically so I could do a comparison.

Here it is!

We had a mask themed zoom on Saturday the 15th.

And Michael and I celebrated the 19th anniversary of when we got engaged.

With more masks.
Told ya it wasn't great.

I went to a funeral and work

My dad and I attended the funeral for Dr. Vawter (he was the Director of AZ Boys State for 50 years) on Thursday, August 6th.  We had already agreed that if people weren't wearing masks and we didn't feel safe, we would leave.  Thankfully every person was masked and there for 54 people total in a church with a capacity for 600.  We sat in the back row to be extra cautious.

We went to the cemetery after.

That's my dad putting a flower on the coffin.

Spencer's 12 year 11 month picture that afternoon.  One more month (less now) and he'll be a teen.

On Friday the 7th I went to my office at work.  I took my temp and sent a pic to my supervisor, who filled out my paperwork to allow me on campus.  I never even saw a single person while I was there.

Awe.  My room!  I miss going to work.
I was there for less than two hours.  I just needed to do some stuff on the computer and bring home more materials.

We are going to be completely virtual until January.  I thought this song that was playing as I loaded my stuff up was appropriate.

I feel better about providing virtual services with all of this stuff.
I was looking forward to a relaxing afternoon when I got a message from my friend Joan reminding me that I had signed up to feed her neighbor, Ed, that night.  His wife died last year and Joan's been getting volunteers to bring him food twice a week.  He turned 90 years old on August 6th so I wanted to make his birthday dinner fairly nice.  A quick trip to Trader Joe's for mostly prepared, or easily prepared food, and I had dinner ready to go.

I took him some birthday flowers too.
We had a fire themed family zoom on Saturday the 8th to go along with the outside temperatures.  We set up Spencer's laptop in front of the electric fire place and had it join the zoom meeting too.

Only a year late

When I was editing Spencer's pictures to get them ready for yesterday's blog I realized that I messed up last year.  It was his last year of elementary school and I should have made grids to compare every first day.  I was deep in daily radiation treatments at the time, so it's not surprising that I forgot to do it, but still.  What's the point of taking the same picture each year if there's no comparison to show for it?  I won't do big grids again until he's a senior in high school, so I can justify the stupid amount of time this took.
