Winding down the school year

The week of May 16th was my last week of working......the regular school year.  I'm still doing extended school year in June.  It's still virtual though.

Kevin taking a nap on me on Sunday, May 16th.

Elliott- 9 years 5 months

Kevin napping that night.  I try to walk him about four miles a day to make this possible.

Cuddles on Monday the 17th.  That's my arm.
Elliott and his best buddy were invited to a special book club at school for the last quarter.  The librarian held a trivia tournament about the book on Tuesday the 17th.  Elliott and Malcolm's team took first place for 3rd grade then went on to beat the 4th and 5th grade teams!  They won the whole dang thing!

Kevin with his new elk horn that night.

I went to get a massage on Thursday the 20th.  When I got home the carbon monoxide detector was beeping, but I thought it was the smoke detector so it took a while to make the beeping stop.  Kevin hid under the guest bed because the beeping scared him.

Then he enjoyed a bottle of chompagne.

That's a little Kevin body under the sheet.

I had a rash on my neck, so I went to the dermatologist on Friday the 21st.

Then I went to work to pack my office in preparation for the big move to the new campus.

We're getting all new furniture, so only the boxes are going.

Kevin being Kevin that afternoon.

The kids had a zoom piano recital that afternoon.  It was business on top, party on the bottom for outfits.   Elliott is definitely wearing athletic shorts here.

It's nice to be able to hang out on the couch during the recital.

And also chew a bone.

Saturday the 22nd after our morning walk.

And finally, we actually had a family zoom that day.  It had been over a month since the last.  The theme was vintage t-shirts.

Got five seconds?

That's all this post will take.

Kevin knocked over the blankets on Monday the 10th and had a nice nap.

Then he ate a hole in the carpet.  We're replacing this flooring anyway, but, really Kevin?

He was proud of his work.

We found this dead bird in the park on Tuesday the 11th.

I think it was a pet, and it's very sad.
Spencer got his first COVID shot on Wednesday the 12th.  He was the first adolescent in the practice to get it, so the doctor tweeted about him and he was interviewed for the news.

Ellen, Michelle, and I went to happy hour/dinner on Thursday the 13th.  It was my first time in a restaurant in 14 months.

I got my teeth cleaned on Friday the 14th.  I also got fluoride painted on.  I also made an appointment for teeth whitening.

Here's the before......but with fluoride.

Afternoon half-caff that day.

Spencer and Kevin that night.

Kevin getting a bath on Saturday the 15th.

Mother's Day

I've been very focused on my health in preparation for an upcoming surgery in July, so there was not a lot of indulgence on Mother's Day.

Michael picked up Starbucks for all of us but we made breakfast at home.  We had baked eggs, bacon, and fruit.

Elliott wanted his picture with Kevin because he thought they looked cute.  He was correct.

After breakfast I wanted to take a nice picture for my day.

I told the kids this was an example of what I did not want.

Official

Three year comparison.  I got hair, Spencer turned into a man, and Elliott is kinda the same.

All of my presents!

I bought the sunflower bouquet for myself.  The other flowers are from Michael.  He got them when he went out for the coffee.

Perfume from myself

Shoes from myself

Wine from Michael and the kids

Workout clothes from Michael and the kids.

That afternoon we watched Swiss Family Robinson, by my request.  Kevin needed some cuddles.

We got Salad and Go for dinner, then I walked Kevin two miles to meet Michael and the kids for frozen yogurt.   And that was the day!  It was perfect!
