A post with actual events!

Elliott drew this picture for me on Mother's Day.  I thought it was hilarious that he called me Natalie.
We took a bunch of selfies with funny filters on Monday, May 11th, so I could post the picture he colored with one of them on FB.  This is actually the entire reason I haven't blogged for almost two weeks.......because I hadn't tranferred these pictures to my computer yet.  Since this was the hold up, I might as well show most of them.  Scroll quickly.

I was getting ready to start zoom therapy sessions on Tuesday, May 12th when I heard a god-awful noise from outside.  Our neighbors across the street had selected that morning as the perfect time to cut down their beautiful jacaranda tree.  I was so sad.

That afternoon I decided it was time to put my wigs away.  I haven't worn them in about six weeks.

Before

Tucked safely away in boxes.

After

More zoom sessions for therapy in the afternoon.  My 1:00 didn't show, so I was left to just stare at the dining room.

I was singing alllllllllllllllllll byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy myyyyyyyyyyyself.

Elliott surprised me that afternoon by announcing he was done with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so I had to rapid fire throw our Book Four party together. Thank goodness I had already ordered all of the food.

Sausage rolls, because Neville drops a whole platter of them.

Gillyweed salad because Harry used Gillyweed to breathe under water.  (It was really kale.)

Rock cakes because Hagrid makes them.

We added our own goblet with blue fire, and ta-da!  Party time!

Mother's Day- 2020

Mother's Day 2020 was cloudy and cooler.  It was a welcome change from the overly hot weather we've been having in May.
I had placed an order for pick-up at AJ's bakery a few days before, so we all drove there and Michael picked it up.  Then we went to Starbucks for drinks.  It was my first Starbucks in almost two months.

Mother's Day Breakfast!  I wish I could eat an almond croissant every day.
Elliott also got a drink from Starbucks (a pink drink), but he drank the whole thing before we got home.

I had to re-take my picture because I forgot about the mimosa!

After breakfast it was time for presents!

I ordered every one of these for myself, so nothing was a surprise.  Well, not for me at least.  Michael and the kids had no idea what I got until I opened them. Ha!

2019 vs 2020

This is the cake I ordered from AJ's.  Almond Amarretto- the best!

We had a surprise visit from my parents that evening.  We didn't know they were coming until they were already coming.  We had been planning on ordering dinner anyway, so we just ordered more.  I didn't take any pictures of the food though.  It was a real fail.  We got a nice spread from Perfect Pear- a quesadilla, two salads, two kinds of grilled cheese, and two different macaroni and cheeses.

** I know that this is not the correct use of "socially distancing". I promise this is not how we are socially distancing.
