Winston 2020- Part 2

December 17th

Winston was once again snuggled against Santa's beard, only this time Santa's beard was painted.

December 18th

Winston knew I would be on my zoom work party in the dining room, and he wanted to join too.

December 19th

Winston knew I would be working on writing goals in the dining room for one billion hours, so once again, he joined me.

He looks pretty cozy in there.
December 20th

Winston was on the chandelier in the kitchen.

December 21st

Winston found some friends.

They wanted to watch a movie.
December 22nd

Winston was in the lamp in the bathroom.

December 23rd

Winston was perched like a bird on the red door.

December 24th

Patiently waiting for a safe trip to Tucson.

December 25th

Silly Winston was hiding in a Santa coat on a bottle of wine.  It was the perfect location for him to watch all of the Christmas morning festivities.  He brought the kids some sparklers to use for New Year's Eve.

And that concludes the 2020 Winston adventures.  Hopefully 2021 Winston is safe to be maskless.

A few bits before Christmas

I went outside every five minutes on Monday the 21st looking for the Christmas Star.  The last time I went out I looked up, it wasn't there, I looked down for about ten seconds, then I looked back up and it appeared before my eyes.  It was fairly amazing.

It's there, you just can't see it.

Michael has an app on his phone that shows you where things are in the night sky. I took a picture of the open app with my phone. I think it looks so cool!
On Tuesday the 22nd we all got COVID tested.  I get tested every other week for work, but it is always the nasal swab.  This was my first saliva test.

I realized I forgot to take pictures of the outside bistro for the festive house post, so I did, and now I'll add them here.

And since I'm adding more photos anyway, here are a few more.  It's just the easiest way for me to remember where to put stuff next year.

Here's a funny story.  I bought this king size bedspread for my brother a few years ago.  I bought the same bedspread for the guest bed last year, having absolutely no idea they were the same print.  Nick gave this back to me this year because he doesn't use it.  Now we have two of the same bedspreads.
Our winter/Christmas flannel sheets were getting really old and worn out, so I got two new sets this year.

I had a brunch zoom happy hour with Ellen and Michelle on the eve of Christmas Eve (Wednesday the 23rd).  I had given both of them a bottle of prosecco and two champagne flutes, so we all had matching glasses.  We talked about doing another brunch zoom in two weeks, but realized we will be back to work that day so we'll return to our 4 pm happy hour.
My friend Crystal dropped off  a gift for me that afternoon. She brought this tin of stuff from Lush and a box of Crumble cookies, but we ate all the cookies before I could get a picture.

Elliott's friend Malcolm did a front yard gift drop off on Christmas Eve morning.  Elliott was so excited!

I bought these two candles years ago, and they seem to be magical and I could not burn them out.  I was determined to not store them for another year so they have been burning, burning, burning this month.

I finally burned the red one out.
But somehow, even though I have burned the white one at exactly the same times, the white one still has about 1/3 of the wax left.  I refuse to put this candle away in the cabinet until next year, so I'm burning, burning, burning away!

Stay tuned for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the rest of Winston, but I'll probably take a few days off to be present for the holidays. I really mean a few days, not two months!

A festive Christmas house- 2020 edition

I took a looooooooot of pictures, because I always go back and reference them when I'm decorating the next year.  They might be a little disjointed, but I tried to load them with a nice flow.

Enjoy!!!

We decided to do the white lights on the house an the colored lights in the yard.  We might make this permanent.

Skiing pig with broken lights for snow.  Classic.

I love the red door with the Christmas decor.  I made that wreath too.

I wanted something new to hang above the red entryway table an I found this red door with the wreath for $20.  I added the bow and the little handle charm.

Just about every angle of the living room

I was pushing the coffee table (it's on wheels) out of the way to take this picture, and the bottom of it snagged my big toenail on the left foot.  I was even wearing shoes!  It immediately bled under the nail and I will most likely lose the whole nail.  I am pissed about it.  The picture is gorgeous though.

I didn't take a picture of the counter because it's covered with Spencer's stuff.

Our bathroom.  The picture is new this year.

Linen closet in the hallway

The doors to our room

Silver and white bird collection in our room (digital stockings).

Festive guest room, because Michael works in there.

I didn't take a picture of the bed because gifts are all over it.  I'll try to before the season is over and stick it in somewhere.

The far entry way- the part that connects the living room to the bedrooms or the kitchen.

Dining room

Since the dining room is my office, and I sit at the table looking at this all day, I added Santa pictures to the wall pictures.  The top one Santa is sitting at the bar, the bottom he's drinking red wine.

I bought a photo backdrop for $8 on put it on the big picture in the dining room, since that is my background for virtual speech therapy.

The Grinchy piano
This is the first year this entertainment center was in the family room, not the living room.  Normally I stack the snowman boxes on top, but the ceiling in here isn't high enough.
This is also the first year I didn't hang the stockings here.  I put them on the electric fireplace by the big tree.

Santa is early!

Merry Christmas!!!
