June starts with a bang, er, a pain

I woke up at 5:30 in the morning on Monday, June 1st, with shortness of breath and severe chest pain.  I decided to go to the ER around 7:30 am, and then I spent about five hours there. They did a full work up- blood work, chest x-ray, and a CT scan- and everything came back normal.  They diagnosed me with chest pain.  Well, thanks a lot.  I already knew that!

I have not been diagnosed with this, but this is honestly what I think happened. It's very common after mastectomy and chest surgery, and I had plenty of those last year.  I even had three different pieces of my rib cartilage removed during my reconstruction in December.

I took a percocet on Monday night, slept for about 11 hours that night, and felt much better on Tuesday, June 2nd.   I was still in pain most of the day, but it completely disappeared by 5 pm.

Elliott finished reading the 5th Harry Potter on the day I spent in the ER, but we had to wait a few days for the movie party because of my mystery pain. We did it on Wednesday, June 3rd.  But first I had to give Michael an early Father's Day present (or maybe a late birthday present), so we could use them for the party.

New Hogwarts House plates!

Our menu was based on this passage in the book:

"She drew out a chair, knocking over the one beside it in the process.
'What do you want, Harry?' Mrs. Weasley called. 'Porridge? Muffins? Kippers? Bacon and eggs? Toast?'
'Just--just toast, thanks,' said Harry."

In case you are curious, kipper is smoked herring.  I was shocked I could get it in an online grocery order from Fry's.

It looks disgusting, but it was delicious!

I went in for an ultrasound on Thursday morning, June 4th. It was actually already scheduled before the ER visit, so it was related, but not related.

There are ZERO pictures from Friday the 5th.  We actually didn't have a Friday family zoom happy hour for the first time since lockdown started in March.  We did it on Sunday instead.

On Saturday the 6th I painted the concrete on the step by the door.

After the first coat.  I'm still debating if I want to keep it this color.  I love it, and I think it's gorgeous, but it shows dusty footprints and that drives me crazy.

And finally, Spencer's 12 year 9 month picture.

Up next: one year of hair growth post chemo!
