A week (and the 4th) without kids

Both of the kids went to camp in Prescott on Sunday the 30th.  We had the option to have them take the bus, but since our friends Jeremy and Annette live in Prescott we opted to drive the kids up.

Michael was merging on the freeway and Spencer was playing the role of "moody pre-teen", but Elliott and I look good.
We met Jeremy and Annette for breakfast at the restaurant at Bucky's casino.

They had some festive decor outside.

Then it was time for camp!

Bye-bye kids!
After we dropped them off we met Jeremy and Annette at a coffee/wine shop where they also had olive oil and vinegar tasting.

There had been a disaster with my paycheck the week before, so on Monday the 1st Michael and I had to drive to my work to get a new check.  Look at the back of the truck we saw while driving!  Bassets!

We went to the movies after we got the new check deposited.  We saw Avengers Endgame again.

Another date on Tuesday the 2nd.  We went out to dinner and then to see Spiderman.

I did some patriotic nails on the 3rd.
The kids weren't done with camp until the 5th, but we decided to drive up to Prescott on the 4th and spend the holiday in ever so slightly cooler air.

We tried to take an official picture before leaving, but it was too dark.

Brighter and better in the car, but still not official worthy.

We stopped at this world famous pie place on our way and bought an apple crumb pie.
Once we were there Jeremy took some more official pictures.  This is at the activity center in his neighborhood.  We did no activities, we just utilized their decor.

I think this is going to be official.

This one's nice too, but the ocotillo isn't as patriotic as the flag banner.

This is a contender too.
We went out for a prime rib dinner and then found the perfect spot for fireworks.   I think this is an award winning photo.

I took no pictures of fireworks, but I did get some selfies.

And an official portrait of the night.

We picked the kids up from camp on the 5th.  They were both so dirty I barely recognized them.  They also both had a blast and want to go back next year.

Spencer was 11 years 10 months on the 6th
And since we were taking photos, I took the kid's flag suit pictures that day too.  I'll do a post with all of them back to 2007 in about two more posts.

And finally, Elliott came home with this huge bruise.  He said he fell off the low ropes course.  Yikes. I can only imagine a fall from the high ropes course.
