Kinda lame

Last week was pretty lame. The nice part of it is that this post will be done in the blink of an eye.

I took zero pictures on Tuesday the 21st.  I could not even tell you one detail about that day either.  I did work.  That's all I remember.

It was incredibly foggy on Wednesday the 22nd.  You couldn't even see the desert from the road.

That's the playground at work.

Michael and I had cappuccinos with Bailey's when I got home from work on Wednesday.

I stopped at Home Goods to buy some birthday presents on Thursday the 23rd.  I was looking at hand soap and lotion when I saw this vanilla stuff that you add to baked goods.  It was with the lotion.  Um, don't add stuff to your food that could be confused with lotion!

I worked on Friday and went to happy hour after work to celebrate the birthdays for a few co-workers.  There are no pictures.

Michael and I went out for a fancy date night, just because, on Saturday.  We had a delicious and leisurely dinner at Morton's in Scottsdale.

I love their pig lamps!

Seriously.  That's it!  That's the whole week.

Pinetop: Sunday and Monday

Sunday was a lazy day up in Pinetop.  We didn't leave the house the entire day.

Laura and I made breakfast.  There were mimosas with blood orange juice.  Delicious.

There was a lot of lounging around for the entire day.

At some point we took all of the Christmas decorations down.

And the effort of all of that required an actual nap.  In bed.

We had a German feast for dinner, and then the kids convinced us to play Bean Boozled.

I refused, because of chemo.  I got M&M's instead.

Laura didn't have chemo as an excuse.

We got up on Sunday and packed and drove home.  Michael was unaware of what I had packed myself, and I was also unaware of what he had packed.

Apparently we've reached the point in our relationship where we start to look and dress alike.

I had better shoes though.

Pinetop: Friday and Saturday

I was almost ready to leave work on Thursday evening when the top of my big cup of water came off and I dumped a huge amount of liquid on top of my laptop.

Nobody was left on campus, so I had to fret about it all night, worried that I had fried the hard drive and lost all of my work.

I went to work on Friday morning and immediately called it in to IT.

Waiting for them to arrive.
I had killed the keyboard, but the hard drive was OK, so they put it into another laptop and I was good to go.
After we were all home from work and school, we packed, loaded up, drove to Mesa, ate dinner, and then drove to Pinetop.
Josh and Laura had left their Christmas decorations up, so we had a lovely tree to see when we pulled into their driveway.

We all got there really late (past 10 pm), so we unpacked, got the kids to bed, and then adults hung out while kids slept.

On Saturday morning Josh and Michael had a really serious conversation with each other.  Apparently.

Laura and I went out to brunch, and then to the movies.

And then after the movie we went for cocktails.  And then cocktails became boozy coffee and boozy hot chocolate.

Once we got back home we took the kids outside to play.  And by that, I mean, they played in the snow and we watched from the porch.

Laura made us boozy hot chocolates in travel cups,

And we went on a family walk.

I had to sit by the fire with some wine to warm up after.  It was below 40 degrees when we were out there.

Lasagna, salad, and bread for dinner.
Elliott asked if he could have a candle for his ice cream, and somehow that turned into us singing happy birthday to each kid individually.

We put the kids to bed and then the adults were watching TV in Josh and Laura's room.  Josh fell asleep.

We may or may not have been making fun of him and harassing him in his sleep.
