And then there was the time that pinterest was pornography at 5:30 am

Elliott woke up at 3:30 am. I held him and rocked him until, like, 5:00 am.  He was still and quiet a few times, but he never really went back to sleep.  At 5:00 we unswaddled him, Michael took him to the living room to play with him, I cleaned the bathroom (cause, you know, those are normal 5:00 am activities) and at 5:20 he was ready to go back to sleep.  I sat down to nurse Elliott while Michael went to get ready for work.  Elliott fell back to sleep easily while I perused pinterest on my phone.  I was just getting ready to put him back in bed and had just pinned a tutorial on making lovely homemade air freshener jars when there is was.

Bam!
Full frontal male nudity.  On pinterest.  At 5:30 am.  How could this be?  Then, like a fool, I clicked on the board that it had been pinned to.  Maybe I was naive enough to think that this was a mistake.

And then.

Bam!
Bam!
Bam!
 My eyes were now hemorrhaging.
This is pretty much what I looked like.
Wanna know what was on this board that I was now viewing at 5:30 am?
Over 1,100 images of gay pornography.

Wanna know what nobody needs to see at 5:30 am?

Graphic male on male action on the kitchen counter.

So, now I'm way awake.  There's no way I can just go back to bed knowing this is out there runining other people's mornings.

So, I looked up pinterest's policies on nudity and pornography.  Just for future reference, you can pin a picture of the statue of David because nudity as depicted in artwork or sculpture is A-OK.  But what was burning holes in my eyes- no, sir.

I filled out the form to report this user.  Pinterest immediately emailed me saying that you can't just report an entire account.  You have to actually go in and individually tag inappropriate pins.  Yeah, cause what I really wanted to do was to actually open the pictures so I could see them even larger.  My brain wasn't melted enough.  So, I tagged a couple of the less awful ones and then emailed pinterest back to say that had been done.  I also shared the link to the board and the user.

Then, I forced myself to go back to sleep.

Fast forward about 8 hours and I got an email from Pinterest telling me that the account for Mr. Porn  2012, had been deleted.  My question is how was he able to accumulate 8,000 pins (almost all of them in violation of the nudity ban)  without someone ratting him out?

Unbelievable.

Just as a side note so I don't offend anyone. I tend to be pretty open minded and I'm not a hateful or judgemental person.  I don't care who anybody wants to sleep with- guy with girl, guy with guy, girl with girl.  Whatever.  No pedophilia, no bestiality, use protection and it would be ideal if everyone were in a loving, commited relationship before you share yourself, although I know that doesn't always happen.  That's all I care about.

But I don't need to see pictures of ANYBODY getting it on in the kitchen, or anywhere else, when I am just looking for some delicious cake recipes and maybe a craft I could do with my kids, while I rock my baby to sleep at 5:30 in the morning.

Gross and disturbing that someone would think it okay to turn an "innocent" site into something so disturbing and disgusting. Sorry this ruined your morning...it would have ruined my whole day! Someone "liked" a picture on facebook of something similar, and they were no longer on my friend list. I had been growing more and more disturbed by her posts anyway. She was a girl I had met here in C-town through a mother of one of Evan's friends at daycare. It was such a disturbing photo (much like those you saw) that I couldn't bear to be subjected to anymore. The problem with this world today to me is that people just don't know where to draw the line. I'm sorry, but I do have very strong views here. To me, if they'll draw the line at such disturbing actions, they'll also not hesitate to take it to another even more gross level like pedophilia and bestiality. *Sigh* I know I am probably hated for my views, but that's the way I feel! I just want to protect my children and their precious innocent eyes for as long as possible to all these horrors! :-(

I'm shuddering at the thought. What a damaging thing to see in the wee hours of the morning. La la la, I'm just pinning stuff for my kid's birthday and BAM genitals.

Have a great weekend, Friend! Can't wait to see pics from the photo shoot redux!
