The last day of 2010

We were barely staying alive the New Year's Eve when Spencer was 4 months old.  We knew that we weren't going to go out or even attempt to stay awake until midnight.  To create some sort of celebration for ourselves we went to the grocery store and bought some BBQ stuff from the deli for dinner.  The next year, when Spencer was a year and 4 months old, we went to a more upscale grocery store and bought better BBQ to enjoy at home. I don't recall staying up until midnight.  If we did it was laying in bed with the TV on mute with Spencer laying on my arm.  Last year, when he was 2 years and 4 months old, we went out for BBQ.  (We also put him to bed and stayed up past midnight!)  3 years in a row is definitely a tradition, one we don't want to break, 'cause we love us some BBQ, so that's what we did again this year.

This was our family feast.  We ate all of it except the fries.  I like thin, crispy fries better.

A New Year's Eve margarita may very well be my new tradition.
Spencer liked his oreos more than his BBQ.
We started this tradition last year.  Champagne and dessert after the kid's in bed.

I have one more holiday catch up post to do.  After that I can do the big reveal of the newly arranged family room.  I bought a HUGE picture to hang on the wall today.  I'm kind of in love with it.  Everything but that picture has been done since Sunday, but the room is definitely not complete without it.
