Christmas Jammies

Every year I take a picture of the kids in matching jammies in front of the tree.  Technically it should have started the year Elliott was born, BUT, in my defense, he was born nine days before Christmas, he wasn't due until late January, and I spent two weeks in the hospital before he was born.  I feel I'm justified in missing 2011.  2013 I think the kids had matching jammies, but I somehow didn't take their picture.  I have a picture, but it's at my parents house and not in matching jammies.  That is a big fail.  That is all my fault.  I have no excuse.

I love the hipster llama with a severe underbite for 2019!

December 20th

My longtime readers might remember the origins of the December 20th pictures, but I will repeat it in case you forgot or don't know.  On December 20, 2007 I put three month old Spencer on the couch in between this Santa and bear and took a picture.  I was bored and was waiting for Michael to come home.  The next year I remembered I had done that so I took a follow up picture, and a tradition was born.  So, here they all are!

The week after surgery

I didn't take a single picture, other than the Winston location picture on Tuesday the 17th.  I couldn't even tell you what I did that day. Hopefully rested a lot.

On Wednesday the 18th, Michael and I went for a follow-up with my surgeon.  We got stuck in two separate traffic messes on the way there.  This is how we felt when we finally arrived.

I ended up being there for two hours because they removed all of the drains (I had three), bandaged the areas where they were removed, and he had to do some stitches on the right.

My legs were kind of concerning, but I think it's just because I was cold.

It felt AWESOME to have the drains out, even though I still can't stand completely upright.

I have a brand new, surgically created belly button and I have to keep and ear plug in there for probably a month to keep it open as it heals.

Michael and I went out for brunch on Thursday the 19th.

I was on a lot of meds and muscle relaxers.

Then we bought wine and wrapped them for all of the kid's teachers.

And then we went to Spencer's awards ceremony.  He made principal's list again. One of only seven 6th graders.

It was the last day of school, and conveniently happy hour at Starbucks, so we took the kids for an end of the semester treat.

We ended the week by seeing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in the theatre, on it's release day.

It was Elliott's first Star Wars movie in a theatre.

And then I had to rest in bed for hours to feel better.
