The first day of school, again

The kids went back to in-person school on Tuesday, October 13th.  They were absolutely thrilled when I made them take all new first day of school pictures. I've always planned on making a huge photo book with all their first and last days and then big grids of comparisons.  I guess 2020 will just always be the year that has two first days.  I'd expect nothing less from this year.

All of Elliott's pictures.  He was pretty excited to go back.

All of Spencer's pictures.  He hadn't been up this early in months and you can tell it.

Maybe if I had written this post in October I would have done all the first day comparisons, but it seems silly two months later, so I just did a little sample.  I'm actually really amused by how there are Halloween decorations in the second- first day.

Up next: the second half of October.  We're cramming it alllllllllll in.

Let's power through October

Thursday Oct 1

I took a picture of myself to use for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Friday Oct 2

More Halloween creeping in.  I got a sloth mummy to go with the sloth witch.

Apparently Christmas pillows were already in stores that day.  I should have bought this!!! It has a beagle and a basset.
Saturday Oct 3rd

We had a Ruth Bader Ginsburg appreciation family zoom happy hour.  I made a Ruth Bader Ginger cocktail.

Michael had gone somewhere with the kids. That's why he's missing.
Sunday Oct 4

16 months of hair growth

Tuesday Oct 6

Spencer's 13 year- 1 month photo

I had seen a video of a recipe for inside out spaghetti and meatballs, so I made it for dinner.  It was good, but the spaghetti inside the meatball didn't really cook and was weirdly chewy.  I won't make it again.

Thursday Oct 8

I took this picture with baby Yoda.  I don't remember why.  Breast cancer awareness, probably.

OK, I was curious, so I checked FB.  This is what I did.

Baby Yoda!
Friday Oct 9

The cool dining room chandelier covered in cobwebs and spiders.  Since my office is the dining room I saw this every time I looked up.

I made some breast cancer ribbon wine glasses that evening.

Saturday Oct 10

Done!

We had a breast cancer awareness themed zoom that day.

Sunday Oct 11

And I did some sort of other zoom the next day.  Who knows what it was for because, good lord, this was still almost two months ago.

Sorry

Well.  That was a stupid and unexpected break.  I have no excuse other than "2020".  It's just hard to juggle working from home, the kids, the house, being a wife, being a friend, being a daughter, etc.  Today is Friday, December 4th.  It is the first day in about two months that I really have nothing to do.  I plan on using it to get caught up on the blog.  Let's do it team.

We're traveling back in time to September 20th.  Oh no.  It's worse than I remembered.

Sunday Sep 20th

We got bagels for brunch and I was proud of my creation.  I used lox cream cheese. Yum.

Monday Sep 21st

Scorpion in the bathtub! He was ready to strike too.  We murdered him.

Our sweet neighbors brought us a basket of goodies for Lord of the Rings Day.  We were going to have a party together until Covid.

Wednesday Sep 23

I got a Yoda mask.  The double eyes are horrifying.

Thursday Sep 24

Messy hair

Saturday Sep 26

My parents were here for the weekend so they were in the living room and we were in our bedroom for our weekly family zoom.  The theme was "show your favorite spatula",

because of this.

Sunday Sep 27

I took down all of the regular decor to prepare for the Halloween decor.  I have to take pictures to remember where to put everything back in January.

My dad got chopped up by sunbeams.

Monday Sep 28

Elliott and Spencer going to school and Michael working in the guest room.

The first taste of Halloween!

Tuesday Sep 29

Elliott wanted to take a selfie with me.

A picture of the nespresso maker.  I don't know why.  Maybe I just bought the mug tree.  Maybe it was national coffee day.  Who knows.
