Knott's Berry Farm- Day 2

We had planned on having a leisurely morning followed by a trip to the beach on Tuesday the 9th, but with the purchase of the season passes and another full day of Knott's fun ahead of us, we had to get up at 7:30 to pack, get ready, get breakfast, check out of the hotel and get to the park.

The kids were on board with this plan. 

As soon as we were in the park, Michael and Elliott went to Camp Snoopy and Spencer and I went to ride GhostRider. Spencer had been too nervous to go on GhostRider on Day 1, but was feeling brave on Day 2. 

GhostRider is the longest, tallest, and fastest wooden roller coaster on the West Coast! Looming 118 feet over historic Ghost Town, GhostRider is the largest attraction at Knott’s Berry Farm and one of the longest and tallest wooden roller coasters in the world. Brave riders enter a mysterious mine and board gold, silver or copper mining car before being sent galloping along over 4,500 feet of twisting timber. The massive roller coaster includes 14 hills providing tons of air time throughout the nearly three minute journey.

He was equal parts nervous and excited, but ended up loving it so we went a few more times that day. 

There was barely anyone in the park that day, so I got lots of unobstructed pictures. 

This werewolf was in jail.  He talked to us.  In reality it was a guy with a camera and a microphone in the next building, but Elliott didn't know that. 

We decided to show off our new season passes.  I had planned on wearing a bathing suit and cover up this day, so I was forced to buy a new shirt for the change in plans.  Oh darn. 

Luckily I had brought Snoopy shirts for the kids to wear on Monday and then we bought them Knotts Spooky Farms shirts, so their original shirts worked for Tuesday.  Michael had only one Snoopy shirt and refused to buy another so he basically ruined the entire day. 

Spencer likes to sit like an 80 year old man. 

I loved this window display in the candy store, but there was too much glare to get a good picture. 

We had a mid-morning coffee break at the Starbucks in the park.  The kids had vanilla frappuccinos.  Even though it pained me to do it, Michael and I got maple pecan lattes instead of boysenberry. I'm so disappointed that the boysenberry just wasn't good.  Maybe we can try hot next time.  Maybe I should just give it up. 

After some lunch it was just rides, rides, rides, for the whole afternoon. 

We went on the jaguar roller coaster about 5 times in a row. 

There were so few people in line Spencer and I waited an extra turn to get the front row. 

Then we ran down to the bottom so we could take pictures of Michael and Elliott in the front row.

We decided to do the log ride one more time on Day 2.  Thank goodness I didn't get soaked this time. 

Then it was all over.  The park closed at 6:00 that day, but we left around 5:00 because we were facing a lot of terrible LA traffic.
