The official 6 month picture
Weight/Size
We haven't had a weight check in 3 weeks (!), so I do not actually know. If I had to guess I would say between 15 and 16 pounds. That puts Elliott well on the growth chart! He has his 6 month appointment on Monday so I will come back and update the size after that.
UPDATE: Elliott was 15 pounds 12.5 ounces on June 18th. It puts him IN the 25th Percentile. He was 26 inches long, which puts him in the 30th Percentile. I forget how big his head was, but his head was also in the 30th Percentile. He's very proportional.
Elliott is wearing 3-6 month, 6 month and 6-9 month clothes. It just depends on the brand. He is in Size 2 diapers.
Sleep
Thank goodness for Zantac. Now that his acid reflux is under control his sleep is better. He is also on a fairly regular routine: up between 7 and 8 am. Nap beween 10ish to noonish. Some morning naps are 20 minutes, some are over an hour. Just depends. Another nap in the afternoon, anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours and anywhere during 1 pm to 4 pm. Again, just depends. Bed for the night betwen 8:30 and 9:30. Still, without fail he is up between 1 and 2 and 4 and 5 to nurse. He sleeps in the rock n play for all his sleep, except he cuddles in bed with me after we nurse in the early morning until we get up.
He cries when he wakes up in the rock n play to tell us he is up. When he's with me in the morning he blows spit bubbles at me to wake me up. Nice, huh?
We are still swaddling Elliott for all his sleep. He outgrew the miracle blanket in length so we cut the bottom off and just swaddle his arms. He is addicted. We need help.
Movement
Elliott can roll front to back and back to front, although he is not a big fan of the back to front. He is sitting independently for about 60 seconds. If he holds onto something he can stand by himself for about 5 seconds. He still loves standing and much prefers to stand on our laps to sitting on our laps. He can hold all of his toys and pass them from one hand to the other.

Communication
I have heard several consonant-vowel combinations (hi, ma, bye) but still no reduplicated babbling (ex. ma-ma-ma or da-da-da) (this is the speech therapist in me coming out). He is blowing spit bubbles. He learned how to fake cough and does it during every waking hour. He has a "I'm bored whine". He has a hungry cry and a tired cry that are very different.
Sweet Remembrances
1. May 24, 2012- Being told that Elliott had beat neonatal cholestasis and his liver was healed and he was a normal, healthy baby.
2. Starting solid foods and loving it.
3. Going to his first fondue/pool party.
4. Swimming for the first time.
5. Having awesome brother pictures taken.
Food
Elliott started eating solids on May 24th. His first food was banana. He loved it. After that we started (in this order) avocado, sweet potato, oatmeal, coconut milk and prunes. He is not the biggest fan of avocado. He gives 2 thumbs up to the rest. I have made all of his food so far. We tried to give him the Gerber bananas and sweet potato that were in his Easter basket- 2 thumbs down.
Elliott is totally off pregestimil. We weaned him over 3 weeks and switched his formula to gentlease. He is totally off duocal. The next step is to reduce the concentration of his formula from 26 calorie to 24, then 22, then 20. He is still nursing 8-9 times a day.

Mood
I have had several people tell me that Elliott is such a happy baby. It's true. Spencer was the devil incarnate (sorry, Spence. We do love you very much, but it's true) and was so fussy and sensitive all the time. This is so new and unfamiliar to us. We can even let other people hold Elliott, which we could NEVER do with Spencer (unless we wanted to pay dearly for it for hours after).

Medicine
Elliott is OFF everything except Zantac. Amazing.
Likes: blowing spit bubbles, standing, smiling, being social, being swaddled for sleep, standing/playing in the jumperoo.
Elliott LOVES Twinkle Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He ignores us when we sing any other song. Twinkle Twinkle gets bouncing, squealing and the biggest smiles you've ever seen. It can even save us from the brink of a meltdown.

Dislikes: rolling from back to front.
Mama's Mental Health:
Excellent. We made it 6 months. I have a healthy baby. We can totally take the next 6 months.
