A Barrel of Laughs

It's been a regular old laugh factory around here the last couple of days.

#1.  We were eating vegetable soup for dinner on Sunday.  It contained green beans.  Spencer got one in his spoon and then said that he couldn't eat green beans because they made him feel undignified.

Honestly.  What 3 year old uses the word undignified in day to day conversation/as an excuse for not eating vegetables?
#2.  On Monday night we had eggs, toast and fruit for dinner.  I made hot cocoa for everyone.  There was about 1/2 a cup left in the big pyrex measuring cup that I heated it in.  Michael had already washed our mugs and was about to dump the leftover cocoa down the drain when I told him to give it to me.

#3.  We were eating spagetti and garlic bread for dinner last night.  Spencer got a fleck of Italian seasoning from the bread on his shoulder.  He asked me to get it off him because it was disgraceful.

I don't think a thesaurus will be on our list of birthday presents to buy.

#4.  Spencer never once slept in his crib.  Ever.  By the time he was sleeping on his own he was sleeping in a bed.  This is what he did in his crib:

We got the crib out of the garage last week and put it together over the weekend.  Imagine our surprise when Spencer begged (pretty pretty please with sugar on top) to let him sleep in there.

I let him climb in and lay down in the morning and hoped he'd forget he wanted to sleep in there after going to school and swim lessons.

Not so much.  He talked about it all day.

So we let him practice climbing in,
and climbing out.
Then we tucked him in.

And he slept for 11 hours.

August 8th, 2011.  3 years- 11 months-2 days old.

First time the kid ever slept in his crib.

BTW- he's not asleep on the left.  He's checking out the mobile.  That's what he used to do while I was in the shower.

LOL That kid cracks me up. Can't wait to hear what he's saying in 2012.

This is hilarious! Maybe you'll finally get him out of your room if you let him sleep in there more often!

That is sooooo funny about the crib and not sleeping as a baby, but sleeping so long at 3 years 11 months! WOW!
