Last year we took Spencer to our 1st ever Transportation Day. It was a blast.
You can read about that day here
This year we invited friends from Tucson and the Phoenix area to join us. Sadly Tyler was sick so Tyler, Karen and Bernie could not join us. We did spend the day with Laura, Josh and Sara; Chelsea, Lilly and Zac; Megan, Hadley and Megan's step-father Kelly. The day was a blast.
We got there early enough to see the helicopter land
Spencer was a motorcycle cop
And an SUV officer
He drove the UPS truck
Laura and Sara were UPS cargo
Sara and Spencer chilled in the Army humvee
He was not actually thrilled about being in the back of a garbage truck. I was surprised.
Hadley and Spencer patrolled the border in the Border Patrol all terrain vehicle
There was a fly over of WWII replica airplanes
Spencer pretended he was going somewhere on the public bus
I stole this photo from the Truly Nolan page. This limo was actually there, I just didn't get a picture of the outside.
Spencer went in it though. And buckled up for safety.
He rode a Harley
When we asked him later what his favorite part was, he said the guy in the crane. Why? Because he was throwing packets of candy to the kids.
We tried to get a group shot in the boat. Zac refused.
Spencer went in a powerful speed boat
We got the group shot in the school bus. I had to work on editing this for over an hour to get rid of the left side of Laura's face. It's hard to get 5 kids in a photo with no visible parents. I printed an 8 x 10 of this picture and it's hanging in Spencer's room now.
Spencer and Hadley played on the fire truck
Josh did double duty with the strollers
Spencer was THRILLED to drive the garbage truck
After the crowds dissipated we made our way over to the helicopter
Spencer looked good in the big helmet
After we left we all went and got lunch and then all went back to our house where everyone (not Megan's family) spent the night. Laura and I ran to the store quickly to get some milk for the children (we may or may not have also made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby). When we got back the house was in disarray. This is just a small sample.
What could have done this? Pack of hyenas? Tornado? 4 kids? Nope. Just 1. Just Zac. Why?
Because this is his mother:
Ha Ha Ha! Michael, Josh and Chelsea got into the beer while we were gone. Zac got into the puzzles. Chelsea watched him do it. She did pick them up later though. Thank goodness, cause I'm a little type A and I was a little short on oxygen.

Darn right! And I'd do it again, too!
(We had a blast! Thanks again for the hospitality!)
Of all the parents in that bus, it would be my big ole' head you'd have to edit out. Ugh - geese.
Sounds like a fun day!
