When we lived in Colorado I started decorating for fall in September. September was "general fall", October was Halloween and November was Thanksgiving. In northern Colorado it is not unheard of to wear a sweatshirt during the day in September. It was not at all unusual to put pumpkins and scarecrows and candy corn out in the 9th month.
Here in the Phoenix area it's still well into the 100's in September. I cannot, in good conscience, put my fall stuff out in September. However, Maryellen gave me this great pumpkin frame for my birthday. It seemed silly to put it out in the garage with the other fall stuff for just a few weeks and then bring it back out on October 1st. So I put it on a table a little early. Can you see it over there in the corner?
I put a picture of Spencer from Halloween last year in it. I hope to get a new picture at the Pumpkin and Chili Party to put in it this year. Thanks again, Maryellen.

I'm so jealous you have the energy to decorate at all!
Does doing the dishes count as decorating? If so, I SO decorate once a month just like you!! :)
If the dishes are holiday dishes (ie, shaped like a pumpkin or have a picture of a snowman), then absolutely yes- count them as decorating. If they're just your everyday ho hum fiestaware then sorry, that's a no go. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.
Woo wee that's a pretty frame.
:)
