Sick

Last Friday Spencer wasn't getting any better so I took him to see his allergy doctor.  Then Elliott had a blood draw, and then I had an appointment with the dermatologist.  By the time we got home that afternoon I crawled into bed and fell asleep.  By that night I could officially say I was sick too.

I was going to try to take pictures of all of our decorations.  This is as far as I got.

The outside pigs (well, this is all one pig, just a bunch of different angles).

We drove down to Tucson on Saturday.  I had to go to bed when we got here.  Too dang sick.
We had plans that night but they got cancelled because Laura was too sick for us to come over.  It did give me a chance to make this ornament for my brother.

It's not exactly as perfect as I had hoped, but, whatever.

If I can stay out of bed long enough I'll post about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day soon.  And hopefully "soon" doesn't mean "February 10th".

Winston Watch 2017- #2

On Monday the 11th, Winston and the elfdeer were up to shenanigans.  They turned into bouquets on the curtains.

More shenanigans on Tuesday the 12th.  They built a tower of toilet paper in the hallway outside of the bathroom.

On Wednesday the 13th Winston basically told us that he had eaten some dog treats.
Ewwww!

Winston and the elfdeer were cozy in a blanket on Thursday the 14th.  They brought a DVD of classic Christmas movies to watch.

On Friday the 15th Winston thought he was a minion pop!
On Saturday the 16th Winston was hiding out of reach of all of the kids for Elliott's birthday party.  He was on top of the desk.

Winston was going for a sleigh ride on Sunday the 17th.
And he was back with funny shenanigans on Monday the 18th.  Can you read his note?  It says, "It's cold outside, but I'm really toasty!"
Winston was a straight-up prankster on Tuesday the 19th.  He had painted daddy's toenails pink during the night.  His note says, "I left you dad a funny treat.  Go find him now and look at his feet."

Winston was in a predicament with the pig on Wednesday the 20th.
He was being hilarious with a fox on Thursday the 21st. Winston's note says, "What does the fox say?" And the fox's note says, "What does the elf say?"
On Friday the 22nd Winston was just hanging with the bears at the end of the couch.  I think Winston was getting increasingly tired.
On the morning of Saturday the 23rd Winston and the elfdeer were in some of our packed bags waiting to be taken to Tucson.  We somehow missed getting a picture of that.  But then once we were in Tucson and all unpacked we found them hanging out with my dad's donkey in Nick's old room.

On Christmas Eve Winston and the elfdeer joined forces with my niece Bella's elf, Marvin.  We're 99.9% positive that Winston and Marvin are cousins, just like Spencer and Elliott are cousins with Bella.

Winston on the left and Marvin on the right.

And finally, Winston and Marvin were just chilling by the Christmas tree on Christmas morning.  I think they enjoyed watching us open presents.  But by then, we were all so sick we barely noticed the cousin elves.

And then this morning, they were both gone.  Back up to the north pole to do whatever cousin elves do I suppose.

Last day and gardens again

Yesterday was my last day of work until January 9th.

Angela (one of the resource teachers) and I were matched appropriately.

I left my calendars turned to January.  Weird.
While I was doing my last day of work, the kids were doing their last day of school.

Michael joined them at school, because Spencer was getting two awards.

He was given a character award ,

and made the principal's list for straight A's.  I edited the pictures (by cropping them) for confidentiality.
Last night my parents came up from Tucson with my mom's cousin who is visiting from Alabama and we all went to the Botanical Gardens.  In stark contrast to when it was 80 degrees 2.5 weeks ago, it was in the 40's last night.  There were smaller crowds because people were scared of the cold.

After the gardens my parents and Paula drove back to Tucson and I waited until 2:00 am to go to the airport to pick up my brother, sister-in-law, and niece because their flight was 2.5 hours delayed.  The airport was packed. It was insane.  And now, at 4:00 pm on Friday, the four hours of sleep I got last night is really catching up to me and I need to take a nap or drink a coffee.

Here's the plan for the next 11 days.  I'm going to do another Winston post soon, and then I'm going to pretend like I'm going to stay current with blogging as the holidays happen.  It is more likely that I will be back on, say, January 3rd, with a "sorry guys, I don't know what happened!"
