Elliott decided he wanted to have a pirate party when he turned 3. There was tons of pirate stuff at the party store so we were good to go with the plan. There are a million pictures to share and they really do tell the whole story of the party so, quite uncharacteristically, I will not be very wordy in this post.
THE BIRTHDAY BOY
THE DECOR
THE FOOD
The party was at 10:00 so we had a brunch, including a pick-your-own topping toast and English muffin bar.
THE PEOPLE
PRESENTS!
THE CAKE
I found a picture of a treasure chest cake. Directions were not included, so I just made up my own. It's not exactly what I wanted (I tried to make the opening bigger between the layers but it gradually sank and closed over night) but it was a good effort and tasted delicious.

And finally, the birthday boy Elliott
It was a great party from beginning to end. We are so lucky to have family and friends who will play the part of pirate to amuse our (definitely no longer a baby and not even really a toddler) son.
Now that he's 3 I definitely have to change the title of the blog.

What a wonderful party!! You've got this Pinterest mom thing down.
Seriously, Oliver and Elliott would be bffs. I am sure of it. Oliver absolutely loves Jake.
The happiest of birthdays to big boy Elliott (when did this happen?????)
Love it, love it, love it. I feel like we were there and wish we actually were. Where did you get Elliott's shirt? Nice job on the cake! What did you end up doing with the leftovers?
Seriously, you know I love everything about the party! And Elliott was the star of the show...well along with Grey the Pirate of course. And stop pretending to be modest about that cake because you know it rocked and that you could not have gotten a bakery to do any better. I am just sad my pirate loving boys could not be there to join the fun. :-)
1. I can't believe he's 3! He'll be in kindergarten next time I see him.
2. I am v. impressed with your cake!
