I got a fitbit a few weeks ago. For those of you that don't know, a fitbit is an activity and sleep tracker. I wear it all the time. I clip it on my bra or my pocket during the day and I keep it in a special wristband at night.
I started wearing it on February 1st. This past Monday, the 17th, was the first day that I met all of my daily goals.
My daily step goal is 10,000. I usually meet it or get really close (like 9,500). My daily calories burned goal is 2,300. I usually get to between 2,100 and 2,200. My distance goal is 5 miles. I usually get to about 4.5. My very active minutes goal is 30. It seems to be my most difficult goal. I usually get to between 12 and 15 minutes. It's amazing that I can do a 40 minute workout, that I feel is pretty intense, and only have 15 minutes count as very active. It doesn't count weightlifting as very active though. Only cardio seems to do it.
Look!
Yay me!
On Monday I also took down all of the Valentine's Day decorations, packed them up and put them out in the garage. I loved having the house decorated with pink and red but it is very nice to have no holiday decorations for a few weeks. Our house hasn't been "normal" since September. We had Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then New Year's, then Valentine's Day back to back to back to back to back.
We'll decorate for St. Patrick's day at the beginning of March and then get a tiny break before we decorate for Easter at the beginning of April. Then we'll have a good 6 week break before we get out all the patriotic stuff for the 4th of July. After that we'll get a few months off before the cycle starts again in October.
We went for a walk last night. We were a few blocks from home when this little guy starting trotting along with us. He must have recognized that Ginger shares the same genetic beagle material. We stopped and looked at his tag. His house was right down the street from where we were. We took him home but his family was gone. We checked the gate and saw that he had dug out under it so we didn't want to just put him in the yard because we knew he would get out again.
So, we brought him home with us. We only had him for about 5 minutes before we were able to reach his human parents on the phone. They had been at the grocery store.
Oh. Did I mention that his name is Spencer?
Spencer the human meet Spencer the dog.
We thought it was pretty awesome.

I'm pretty sure you got more "active" pictures of Spencer the dog in your less than hour with him than I've seen of Ginger in 3 years.
You have to burn 2300 calories a day??? Is that right? That seems so high.
Spencer the dog is pretty adorable and Spencer the human is pretty adorable as well!!
