The last day of June

When Spencer and I started talking about summer vacation and what we wanted to do during June and July he mentioned he wanted to go to a water park with daddy and the movies with me.   Well, the water parks around here cost an arm and a leg and we're just not willing to spend that money ($50+) for a 5 year old that probably isn't tall enough to go on everything.  They're going to go to a baseball game instead.  But the movies we can do.  There are three weekends left before Spencer starts kindergarten so we decided we'd better do this movie date before we run out of time.

We've been slowly buying new school clothes and this is one of the new outfits.  Very fitting to wear to go see Monsters University.

I did blue and white stripes to match.

It was a really cute movie.  We both enjoyed it.

After the movies we went to Fresh and Easy to buy pizza dough.  Then we realized during dinner that we were almost out of milk.  I would normally just go to Fry's for a milk run but since I was going out anyway I thought I would take the opportunity to go to Walmart so that I could also buy a fan.  I want to put it in the bathroom so I can blast my face with circulating air when I do my make-up.  It's very hard (and pointless) to apply make-up when you are sweating as if you are sitting in a hot sauna.  Anyway walking from the fans to the milk we walked by the pajamas. The low tonight is going to be 87 degrees.  That definitely calls for new tank top jammies.

We did a catwalk photo shoot in the hallway.

Tomorrow is July.  Egads!

M, T, W

As in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Monday

On Monday we went to the splash pad.  Out goal is to go to a different one every Monday.  This was splash pad #2.

Elliott looks like Paul Revere.

Elliott is wearing Spencer's old size 24 months suit.  Later in the afternoon I told Spencer to get into his suit for swim lessons.  He accidentally put on Elliott's and wore it for close to an hour before either of us noticed.  Size 24 months.  Sigh.

(Don't tell him I told you that story.  He was mortified when it happened.)

Spencer built this all by himself.  We took these pictures and 1 second later Elliott knocked it over.

Tuesday

On Tuesday I went to work, drove home and picked up Spencer and took him for an allergy shot, dropped him back off at home, went to the dentist for a cleaning, came back home and got the kids ready for swim lessons, sent them to swim lessons with Michael, went to Target, came home and worked out, took a shower and then ate dinner in the car on the way to the hospital to meet....

Hollis Marie!

She was about 3 hours old here.
Megan was totally ready to drink a margarita, but knew it would probably end in puking, so she refrained.

Wednesday

For our Something Awesome Wednesday we went to the Sea Life Aquarium.  It was our first time there.  It's been open for an embarassing amount of time considering we've never been.

This turtle maintained a scary amount of eye contact with Spencer.

This was in the jelly fish room.  It was dark, there was glow in the dark splatter paint everywhere and they were playing disco music.  Elliott was getting his dance on.

The aquarium is attached to a huge mall.  After we went through once we went into the mall to get a snack.

Then we went through again.  The second time took about 1/8 the amount of time as the first time.
There was a fun play room at the end.  We actually ran into someone I used to work with.  I haven't seen her in years.  She has 2 kids now too and we planned a future play date.  I love it when stuff like that happens!

Spencer got ahold of the camera and put it to use on the way home.

This is our forecast for the next 4 days.  I don't care what anybody says, but 117 degrees is very different from 105 degrees.  When people say that any temperature over 100 degrees is just hot and the same, they haven't experienced 117 degrees.

We're pretty much not going to leave the house after Friday morning.
