Leap Day 2016

Spencer was born in September, 2007 so he had his first Leap Day in 2008 when he was almost 6 months old.

I must have had premonitions of future blogging and future social media, because I decided to put him in the crib and take some photos of him to commemorate the day.
Elliott just so happened to be a newborn when the next Leap Day happened in 2012 so it was plain luck that the crib was up once again.  I put Spencer in the same corner and took his second Leap Day picture.
And Elliott got his first Leap Day picture.  I thought he looked so good at the time, but now I think he just looks sickly.  Ugh.  Liver disease.

They had their first brothers Leap Day picture together.
In 2012 my mom told me that it was too bad that I took the pictures in the crib because I would not be able to continue recreating them once the kids outgrew the crib.  I only know that because it showed up as a comment I made in my Facebook memories on 2/29.  Sometimes Facebook can be downright handy.

Well, my mom was wrong.

The crib converted to Spencer's full size headboard and footboard, so as long as we keep this bed, the photo tradition will continue.

I think it's interesting that Spencer's three pictures were all taken in different houses.  2020 will be the same as 2016 though.

After we took the pictures I gave each kid a cookie for their participation and sent them out to the backyard  to play.

We'll see you in 2020 Leap Day.

I love that you captured special pictures of all of the boys' leap days. I looked back to Evan's first in 2008, but alas, I found no such pictures. I did take pictures of him on February 28th, but that just isn't going to cut it. Sigh. Unlike you, I just wasn't preparing for blogging back then. I love seeing pictures of baby Spencer and Elliott. Spencer and Evan looked so much alike at that age...happy little shrimps! And sweet little Elliott...he overcame so much to become the strong and happy little man he is today. Like you, we lived in three different places for each of those leap years, and unlike you, I suspect we will be in a different place in the next one. We will get to the "permanent" home again one day soon! :-)

You crack me up! (And I got a kick out of the fact that my FB comment was in your blog.)
