I am
excited to decorate for every holiday. That's just a given. I was especially excited to decorate for this Halloween, though, because it is our first one in this house. We closed on the house and got the keys 2 days after Halloween last year. I can't believe we are coming up on the 1 year Houseiversary!
This is in the front yard.
Next to the front door on the left. The sign hanging from the picket fence says Happy Halloween.
Sitting by the front door on the right.
The entryway table.
Maryellen gave me the pumpkin frame for my 30th birthday. I put a picture of Spencer, age 1, in there that year and have never changed it. I just really like that picture. I bought the spider web frame this year and just barely added the picture of both Spencer and Elliott from Halloween 2012. I'd like to find one more frame so I can add a single picture of Elliott in the same Halloween shirt that Spencer has in the pumpkin frame.
I have always wanted to buy one of these cinnamon scented witch's brooms from Fresh&Easy. This was the year. It makes the whole house smell so spicy and yummy and was well worth $5.

The right dining room server. One of those striped candles fell over last week when Elliott was sleeping, Spencer was at school and Michael was at work. It nearly gave me a heart attack while I crept around trying to locate an intruder.

The hallway bathroom.
Side note: I finally have my new faucets installed so I can do an entire post about the bathroom now!

And that's it. I am loving having all the orange and red in my house. But honestly I am already feeling the urge to move on to red and green. I'm so excited about Christmas this year....mostly because I don't have to move right before it.

Yep, you decorate for holidays about as much as anyone I know! The stores love you this time of year. :-) I love it all and can't wait to see what all you have in store for Christmas when you don't have packing boxes to contend with. I think the one thing that curbs my urge to decorate a ton for every holiday is finding a good storage solution for it all. Do you have any tips there?
I absolutely LOVE Fall decor (and yours in particular). Maybe it's because we don't have a real Fall here, but I think it's more because, unlike Christmas, it's socially acceptable to keep it up for so long. I mean, aside from the Halloween specific items, you can put stuff up in September (as I do) and keep it up until Thanksgiving. Just long enough to feel worth all the work, but not so long that it loses that special decor feeling.
I am so impressed. I can't even get the clean towels out of the dryer and onto the towel racks. I still have birthday cards from Hadley's August birthday hanging up. I don't know how you pull off decorating for each holiday! Maybe I need lessons...or better yet to hire you!
Your home looks awesome!! It makes my three Halloween decorations look really sad. I need to shop.
I LOVE it! Looking forward reading your Christmas decorating blogs. :)
