Getting to Florida

My mother-in-law ever so kindly reminded me today that it has been two weeks since my last post. To tell the truth I haven't been on blogger at all in over three weeks.  My last three or four posts were pre-written and set to post while we were in Florida and I just haven't had the time or the energy to get back on here.  I haven't even read any other blogs in the last three weeks.  But, I will persevere and get caught up if only because my type-A personality allows for no other option.

We got up at 3:30 am on Tuesday, May 31st and left for the airport at 4:20.  We parked in long-term parking and then took the tram to the terminal.

It was way early for this crew but the kids were excited and a little excitement will beat getting up hours before you usually do any day.

We flew from Phoenix to LA, because it makes total sense to go west before going east.

Look photo bombers!  The first picture was really blurry, but they photo bombed that one too.  They are nothing if not dedicated to their craft.

Elliott was so excited to go up in the sky.

It was very cloudy when we landed in LA.

We had a long (a little more than two hours) layover in LA, but it ended up being too short because they kept changing the gate on us and we walked quite a distance several times before they settled on a gate.   We picked up breakfast and were given free coffees because the place had run out of most of their food and the whole ordering process was ridiculous and it was extremely overpriced.

I got the second worse mouth burn of my life on that coffee.  It didn't heal for three days.

The flight from LA to Tampa was uneventful.  Elliott fell asleep for about an hour but there is no picture because he was asleep on top of me and nobody looked at me during the entire time for me to signal to them to take a picture and god forbid anybody else ever consider just taking a picture if I don't tell them to.
We got to Tampa around 6:00.  My brother Nathan met us at the airport and we picked up a bunch of cuban food for dinner.  The kids got to play with their cousin Bella that night and I took zero pictures because it was all too tiring.
