Bulletproof coffee and other adventures

I drink my coffee iced 99% of the time.  I like to get one hot pumpkin spice latte a year and one hot eggnog latte a year.  I will drink hot coffee with pie on Thanksgiving and with whatever deliciousness is for dessert on Christmas.  But all the rest of the year I go iced with coconut milk/almond milk/cashew milk and two drops of liquid stevia.

I've been reading a lot about bulletproof coffee and how it's a delicious and great way to start your day.  If you don't know, bulletproof coffee is hot coffee emulsified with grass-fed butter and coconut oil or MCT oil.  It's supposed to rev your metabolism and keep you full.  If you want to know more, google it.  There's like 8 billion pages out there, all totally for it or totally against it.   Since we now have an immersion blender I thought I'd give it a shot.  Monday morning (last week) was the day.

I made and drank it for five days last week. My verdict:  it is really tasty, it really does help to keep you full for a long time, and I probably won'e be making a forever switch, because I just love iced coffee too much.

On Monday afternoon Elliott and I took the car into Costco to get the tires rotated.  BIG mistake.  We were told to bring it back in 45 minutes, so we went to Target during that time.  From the time we handed over the keys when we were forced to wait inside of Costco, it was TWO HOURS before they were done.  So two hours and 45 minutes total.  Unacceptable.

We had fun looking at Halloween costumes for all of three minutes.

We're doing a Star Wars theme this year.

Both kids want to be Darth Vader.

We spent the majority of the time sitting on all of the couches and chairs.  Elliott was rather tired and was a real trooper (a storm trooper, perhaps) about being stuck in there.

After FINALLY getting out of that place we went and met Travis at Men's Warehouse to get Elliott fitted for a suit.  He's going to be the ring bearer when Brendan and Travis get married in November.

OMG, I can hardly stand the cuteness.
Michael also got fitted for a suit for his groomsman duties, but he wasn't wearing a shirt and he looked like a male stripper, so I refrained from photography.

Then, it was on to David's Bridal for my dress.

This is the actual dress in the actual color.

This may or may not be the shoe, but it is the color.

More pictures of the dress.

Layla is going to be the flower girl.  She is about 6 weeks older than Elliott.  They are going to STEAL THE SHOW!
On Tuesday Elliott had physical therapy at 11.  He got discharged from services.  I took no pictures, which is kind of a fail.  Then we went to the mall and to lunch.

He ate his body weight in chocolate chip pancakes.
Then it was back to the hospital for an occupational therapy evaluation.  This was before we went into the room.  I didn't take any pictures during the actual evaluation, because there really wasn't a good opportunity.  He qualified for services and we've actually already started going for sessions, so I'm hopeful about all the good stuff we'll see as a result.

On Wednesday Spencer got allergy shots.  I took one picture all day.  I was reading a magazine while we waited and I want this lipstick.
I had bought this beautiful and wondrous canvas on Wednesday.  Michael hung it up for me on Thursday.  And more specifically, I made him move four other signs as well, because of their sizes.
I thought this would be the very last needed canvas for my kitchen gallery, but since we moved so many other signs, I now need one more.  This one took two years to find.  So I'll probably be done with the whole thing in 2018.
I worked on Thursday and Friday.  When I left work on Friday the temperature in the blacktopped parking lot was 120 degrees.

I look pretty good considering the inside of the car was probably 170 degrees.  I'd like to point out that the white thing on my shoulder is a tank top and not a bra.  My number one rule of fashion is NO visible bra straps under any circumstances.

The temperature went down two degrees before I could take the picture.
On Saturday Maryellen picked me up bright and early and we went to Tempe Marketplace to see Trainwreck with the girls.  Then we went to lunch.  We walked through the marketplace after eating to do a little shopping.  We all nearly died from the heat.
Later that day Facebook sent me a notification reminding me that four years ago I had done a status update saying it was the ten year anniversary of when Michael proposed.  I knew it was in mid-August, but after 14 years that date is no longer all that important.  Anyway, we decided to take a family picture to commemorate what is not a very important date anymore.  It exceeded my expectations.  We used the timer on the camera and everybody was looking and smiling. Could this be the beginning of something wonderful?  Did I just jinx any chance of "easy" pictures by saying that?

Ginger was not included, but she was close by, sleeping on her favorite bed in the dining room.

And resting her foot on the wine wrack in the server.
I'm working on another Q & A post and another snips/screenshots post, so hopefully one of those will go up next and not another tedious "this is what I did during my ho-hum week" post.

I've been thinking about y'all with this horrible heat. Hopefully the worst is almost over soon!! I guess you don't want Elliott's business broadcast all over the internet about therapy. I shall message you at some point. It's probably your profession that would make you realize he needed to be evaluated, right?

Elliott looks so cute! "Trainwreck" was funny. I liked it more than I thought I would.
