Party time in Tucson

We spent last weekend in Tucson, specifically so we could attend Sara's (my friend Laura's daughter) 6th birthday party on Saturday.  The kids stayed with Michael's parents both nights and Michael and I stayed at my parents house, even though they were out of town at the time.

The flower stalk on the agave in the backyard has grown even bigger.  I've never actually seen one this big, probably because people don't usually let them get this big.

Michael and I went out to breakfast on Saturday and then went to see the new Avengers.  After the movie I met my friend Amanda for coffee.  We were roommates at the U of A our sophomore year and she was also my maid of honor. It had been years since we had actually seen each other, but we ran into each other over Easter weekend and plan of spending much more time together.
Saturday evening was Sara's party.  It was at one of those indoor jumping places and to make it even more fun, it was a glow in the dark party.

Somehow Chelsea, Laura and I got talked into going in to the wind machine.

We were a little wind blown after those 80 mph gusts.

All the kids.  Elliott flat out refused to participate.  He's been a bit of a punk lately.

He did not refuse to participate in eating cake.

An employee of the jumping place had been taking pictures during the entire party.  They downloaded them and showed them on a TV during pizza/cake/present time.  I thought that was pretty cool.

Well, until I showed up on the screen.

We drove home on Sunday afternoon.  Michael was driving and I was admiring the pretty blue sky.

And then.  What's that up ahead?
Oh. My. God.  It is!

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!

It was my first time actually seeing this baby in action.  And I have to say, it did not disappoint.
We were too close to it to get a picture from the side,  but this is exactly what it looked like.  The guy driving it had a huge smile on his face.  I would to if I got to zip around in this thing.

I just love your childlike excitement over things like glow in the dark parties and the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile. Hehe! And I am pretty sure Elliott's affinity for cake and sweets helps him with his weight stabilization despite his not eating well regularly. Let that silly boy eat his cake! Hehe!
