Water

This post is a summary of the rest of last week, but 97% of it is about water and swimming.

Spencer had his first cooking class on Wednesday.  My parents gave him a superhero apron for his kindergarten graduation and we took a picture with it, but he didn't actually wear it to class.
Our routine most days last week was to go to swim lessons, come home and eat dinner and then go in the pool before showers and bed.

Michael didn't want to go in the pool on Wednesday so he was our official photographer.

This picture of me and Elliott reminded me of......
This picture of me and two year old Spencer!  This was in June of 2010 at Megan's pool.

I'm actually wearing the same swim suit.  I tend to keep my clothes for a long, long, long time.
I took eight pictures on Thursday last week and all eight of them are of a naked kid, so we're just going to skip that day.

Elliott does not have a class on Friday so I have a list of fun activities planned for the summer to keep us off the TV while Spencer is at his class.

I have been wanting to do this since Spencer was a toddler.  Two bowls, ice, water and a slotted spoon.

With a couple of refills on the ice it kept him busy for about an hour.

Spencer turned 6 years 9 months on Friday.  Three more months and he'll be seven.  That is just not possible.

We wanted to try taking a picture on the diving board, but our first attempt was too sunny.

We waited another 20 minutes, but the subject was not happy about sitting.

He's a good faker though.

Standing was a little better.

Right after we finished the photo shoot I decided that I could not stand Spencer's shaggy hair for one more minute.

So we went and got him a haircut.

A really short haircut.

It's so much better.

That night Ginger did what she does best.

And was kind of scary doing it.
On Saturday we had friends over to swim.  Spencer really wanted to see his friend Sydney from kindergarten so we had her, and her mom and brother.

After a lot of swimming the kids needed a snack.

We had a lot of fun with them and can't wait for them to come over again.

My cousin is going to be here tomorrow with his wife and their two kids.  I'm excited to get a lot of cousin pictures.  I expect that zero out of four kids (ages 6, 3, 2 and 2 months) will actually cooperate.

I keep my clothes for a freakishly long amount of time too, like a good portion of them pre-date my 9.5 year marriage. Is that weird? It's probably weirder that I think I'm still in my early 20s and it's not strange at all to wear a sorority formals t-shirt from 2003 when taking my kinds to gymnastics (yes, that was me on Monday).

Speaking of clothes, my eagle eyes noticed that the boys were in matching shark outfits. What was the occasion and where is the picture of them together in there matchy matchys? I know there has to be one.

Yep, I totally have a closet full of very old clothes...much of which I can't even wear right now, but I have hope that I will wear them again. Haha! I actually have a similar colored swimsuit, and I think it is a good color on "us." I loved Spencer's month picture on the diving board. He is such a good "faker." Haha! Also, yes both of our boys will be hair twins this summer! I may have to just do a side-by-side photo comparison for us! ;-)
