The weekend

Spencer's birthday is in 23 days.  His party is in 24 days.  If we didn't throw a big party every now and then I would never get anything done around this house.  Since all these people will be coming over in a little more than 3 weeks we've amped up the "get the bathroom done" schedule.  We spent a lot of time working on it over the weekend.

Not high on the list of projects, but the new toilet paper holder is working out just splendidly.  If we don't get the tile floor done in time I will just focus people's attention on this.
I also stained the bathroom counters over the weekend.  I did one coat on Friday night, one coat on Satruday morning and one coat on Sunday afternoon.  I'm going to do a final coat tonight.  Then it sits for 5 days and I will do two top coats.

This was after the second coat.

Spencer is really getting into taking pictures.  These next three photos are courtesy of his artistic eye.

My little group of friends had a girl's movie night on Saturday night.  We were an even smaller group than normal because Joni, Brenda and Cynthia weren't able to make it.

I didn't return home until 12:30 am.  It was quite awesome.

Look at baby Dahlia's eyes.  That color is real.  There was no photoshopping done here.

We facetimed Amy and her boys in Indiana for almost an hour.

Lauren told us to be goofy.

I brought my own pillow to movie night.  It was a good call.

On Sunday morning we got up and went to the Hangar Cafe.  It is right next to a small airport so you can sit on the patio and watch the planes take off and land.
Then we went to Target.  Spencer always wants to sit in these big carts but I pretty much refuse to push them because they are so hard to control.  Both kids were thrilled that daddy was willing to do it.

Sunday afternoon we went to Lowe's.  Real shocker.

Ice cream was involved as well.
One of these days I plan on making it 48+ hours without a trip to Lowe's or Home Depot.  That day is not today, my friends (because I was there again today by 8:30 am).

I can't wait to see the finished bathroom renovation. I love the darker stained cabinets. All of the bathrooms in our house would need renovating (old yucky linoleum, old ugly vanities, old ugly light fixtures and old ugly faucets and other fixtures). It is one of the big deterrents to us ever buying it, but we like the neighborhood. Haha! That last picture of Spencer just shows how awesome he is!
