Veterans Day

Veterans Day was a great day. Michael and I both had the day off from work, so we decided to take Spencer to McCormick Railroad Park in Scottsdale.

Spencer has become very serious about sun protection. He rarely leaves the house without his sunglasses and hat.

We rode the train and the carousel.Spencer usually insists that one of us play on the equipment with him. Not yesterday. He marched up the steps and across the bridge.... And took the slide all by himself.
About 35 times in a row. We ate lunch at Outback and then came home for naps for everyone. I slept about 45 seconds before Spencer woke up.

My school is having a bake sale on Friday so in the afternoon Spencer helped me make some cookie dough. While I was busy baking the cookies, he got busy playing with Ginger's dog food. See how he's using 2 spoons to mix it? I think he thought he was still working on the dough. When we first moved into this house we put furniture where it looked good, not necessarily where it functioned well. We've been slowly changing that. 2 days ago we moved the bookshelf where I keep my cookbooks (yeah, I have an entire bookshelf for just cookbooks) into the spot where Spencer's little table was. Now his table is right next to Ginger's food and water. Do you see him insisting that she eat off his play spoon?
Maybe we should rethink this furniture arrangement.

I'm happy to know that Spencer takes his sun care so seriously.
