My birthday yesterday was wonderful. We woke up (earlier than I had hoped, thank you very much, Spencer) to grey skies and rain. Only an Arizonan would see that and think "yes!!!!". It was so nice to have a sort of rainy, drizzly day for my birthday. We ate breakfast, opened presents and took some pictures.
What is the perfect birthday drink? Why, an iced pumpkin spice latte of course. As Spencer was napping and I was getting ready for the big birthday dinner, I walked into the kitchen and found Ginger laying half on and half off her dog door step. Really? Is this comfy? Then we met up with my Maricopa County crew for a big birthday dinner at Benihana.
Megan and Scott Maryellen and Brendan. Maryellen's husband was in Las Vegas and Brendan is not married, so because they were sitting next to each other they looked like a couple even though they are not. Maryellen got carded when she ordered an alcoholic beverage. Way to go Maryellen!!! Spencer had a great time watching the teppanyaki chef flipping his knives and cooking all the food. Joshua and Amy (who, very exciting news, are expecting a baby in April!!!!!!!) My silly boys Megan celebrating one of many, many, many birthdays with me. Can you believe she had a baby 1 month and 5 days ago?! She looks FABULOUS. After dinner everyone but Megan and Scott (they do have a 1 month and 5 day old baby afterall) came back to our house for cake and ice cream. Spencer somehow ended up eating ice cream without a bib on an upholstered chair. I guess rules just fly out the window on mom's birthday. Amy looks fabulous in this picture but Brendan looks angry. So I took it again. Now Brendan is charming and Amy looks a little not her best. If I had the energy I'd photoshop it to get the best of both. But I don't.
Spencer on the eve of his second birthday.
Isn't the outfit great? I'm thinking about having his picture at Sears taken in this next week.
Tomorrow: Spencer's birthday pictures
